Text Blog Entry - Story Review

I borrowed a book “Audrey Hepburn” from Unitec Library which is written by Chris Rice. Audrey Hepburn was a famous actress and I like her very much, especially her role in Roman Holiday. She was wonderful in Gigi and this film made Audrey world famous. So I chose this book to know more about her real life.

She was born in Brussels On May 4, 1929. Her mother was Dutch and her father was half English, half Irish. She looked very happy in her movies, but real life made her not so happy.

She was not happy during her childhood because her parents often fought. Audrey Hepburn was a ballet dancer, but she never danced in a ballet. She got two periods of marriage. She married Mel Ferrer in Switzerland in 1954 but devoiced in 1967. Then she married Italian doctor, Andrea Dotti in 1969. She left Dotti in 1979 when she heard about her husband’s girlfriends. In her opinion, family is always more important than her movies.

She had different roles in many films and she won some rewards. She won an Oscar for Best Actress in Roman Holiday and she won a Tony for Best Actress in Ondine.

She died in 1993 when she was sixty-four. The world loved her. People love her now, years after she died.

That is it. The real life is not always like what is showed. But I will remember this pretty and lovely Gigi.
